RLGL is a card-swiping arcade game in which the player tries to beat their highest score by correctly swiping a card left or right (or sometimes other directions). Level up through streaks and work hard to beat the countdown clock!
How to Play
Each card in the deck has a color-matched "pip" to the right or left of center-screen. Swipe the matching card in the direction of the pip before the timer bar below the deck reaches the center, which counts as a "miss."
Earn "streaks" at specific thresholds to earn a score multiplier - try to beat your highest score for each deck! Decks are deterministically generated based on a seed value (displayed on the screen).
About RL|GL
I developed RLGL in 2017 as a project in Swift so I could learn the language. I published it to the Apple App Store that year, but didn't maintain the developer program membership (mostly since the game made zero dollars - my fault for not promoting it in any way at all).
Fast-forward to now, and I've used it once again; this time, I'm monkeying with DragonRuby. It really made rebuilding the game super easy, and it's going to be - if nothing else - my prototyping engine of choice for future games.
Why is it $0.99?
I hate ads and not-actually-free crap. I don't want you to have to mess with in-app nonsense. If you pay for it once, you own it and I get some support. I intend to put 50% of whatever my games make into a fund for my kids, so you can do with that what you like. Eventually, I hope to have a tracker on my developer site where folk can see how much I've banked for them. That'd be pretty cool, I think.
